The Rangers Girls had a successful Eagles Summer Classic Tournament by making a run to the finals. Their run ended with an epic battle in the finals against Strikers OC. The finals saw the team's fight to a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation. Neither team could put the game away in overtime. Ultimately the Rangers lost in the 8th round of penalty kicks.
During the course of the tournament the team focused on maintaining possession and controlling the flow of the game. The girls gave up only 2 goals in the entire tournament while scoring 10. Their stout defense included multiple excellent saves by their goal keeper.
In the finals, the girls displayed an incredible level of commitment and focus. No ball was uncontested and the girls were pushing the pace both on and off the ball. The game was decided by the thinnest of margins with many great chances by both teams. We are very proud of these girls and their efforts in this tournament. If they continue playing at this level, the Rangers '04 White girls will add a lot of hardware to the Rangers trophy case.
Great job girls!!!!
