On August 23-24, 2014, The Fullerton Rangers Youth Soccer Club hosts the 32nd annual Friendship Tournament.
The Rangers sponsored their inaugural Friendship Tournament in 1983 and it has become the longest running tournament for recreational soccer teams in the area. In 2004, a new bracket was established to admit the higher signature level soccer teams for the first time which helped expand the Friendship Tournament to 90 teams.
Sanctioned by CYSA Cal South as a Class III Recreational Tournament, the Friendship Tournament is open to recreational youth teams affiliated with USSF including AYSO, for a nominal fee. Played over a dozen fields captive to the Rangers, the Friendship Tournament features a festive yet competitive atmosphere.
Officially no scores or standings are kept, however, the certified center referees provided by the Rangers not only assure the quality of play but help to ensure the safety of the players. In recognition of their participation in the Friendship Tournament, every player receives a commemorative tournament pin unique to each year.
