Coach Uribe, or Rolo as he prefers, is excited to have a very young, talented and eager group to work with this season. His ability to teach and coach has traditionally helped his players play to their potential, making the soccer program a very competitive one in the SCIAC. With this in mind, coach Uribe served as the head coach of the Region IV ODP Boys U-14 for over six years and in the ODP program for over 12 years. He is a former US National Youth National Team staff coach for over five years, where he worked with the U-14 and U-15 National Teams. Uribe completed his Master’s degree in Education and option in Kinesiology in 2006. One of his favorite roles at Caltech is teaching in the Physical Education department, along with his administrative duties.

Prior to Caltech, Coach Uribe led the squad at Mt. San Antonio College, where his team recorded its first playoff appearance in the school’s history. This feat earned him the Coach of the Year Award in the South Coast Conference in 1999.  In 2000, he was a presented a national award at the NSCAA Annual Convention in Baltimore, Md. for his contribution and dedication to the Latin American Soccer Coaches Association. Before arriving at Mt. SAC, he coached both the men’s and women’s soccer teams at San Bernardino Valley College and has coached at the club and high school levels as well.

He is also an accomplished player, having competed at various levels, including professionally. Uribe started his playing career at Redlands High School, where he was a three-year letterman.
